Shashank, certified life and career coach, founder of Lofty Sights coaching practice

Hi, I am Shashank

I started out as a journalist, became a marketer, and somehow ended up at Google leading global operations. Every room I walked into felt like a stage I hadn't auditioned for. I moved between worlds, India, Canada, the US, between industries, between identities, and spent a long time wondering why everyone else seemed to know exactly who they were.

I never thought I needed a coach. Honestly, I didn't think I deserved one. Coaches were for CEOs, for people who had already made it. Not for someone still asking whether they belonged in the room.

A recent ADHD diagnosis didn't answer everything, but it sent me down a path of real self-discovery, and somewhere along that path I started to understand what I'd been doing for people around me for years without having a name for it.

I kept seeing the same thing. Smart, capable people who didn't ask for help not because they didn't need it, but because they didn't think they were allowed to. People who felt like less-than, even when the evidence said otherwise.

That's the space I wanted to create. Somewhere you can get honest without performing strength you don't feel. Somewhere someone is genuinely in your corner.

I'm an immigrant, neurodivergent, and still figuring things out. I'm not coaching from a place of having arrived. I'm coaching because I know what it costs to navigate alone.

What to expect in our sessions?

As a Co-active practitioner coach, a fancy way of saying: I believe you already have the answers. My job is to help you hear them, and then actually do something about it.

I'm direct. I listen deeply. I'll call you out when you're getting in your own way, and I'll celebrate hard when you're not. There's no judgment here, just real work, and maybe some laughs along the way.

Every conversation starts where you are right now, not where you think you should be.

We begin by getting clear on what you actually want, which is sometimes different from what you think you want. From there we look at what's genuinely in the way, whether that's your circumstances, your patterns, or the version of yourself you've outgrown but haven't let go of yet.

Then we move. Real steps, real accountability, and enough honesty to make sure you follow through.

  • We meet over video, wherever you are in the world.

  • The work takes time. Most people stay for several months because that's when things actually shift.

  • Every session follows your agenda.

Testimonials

  • Working with Shashank gave me a front-row seat to the kind of coach he is: deeply empathetic, consistently joyful, and genuinely invested in people's long-term growth. What stands out most is how naturally he leads with empathy. He takes the time to understand not just what you're working on, but how you're doing as a person. That care shows up in thoughtful questions, patient listening, and advice that's grounded in your goals, not just immediate outcomes. What truly separates him as a coach is his long-term commitment. He doesn't disappear once a milestone is hit, he checks in consistently, remembers what matters to you, and follows through over time. That sustained investment builds trust and accountability, helping you grow in ways that compound. If you're looking for a coach who combines empathy, optimism, and real commitment to your development, Shashank is someone I wholeheartedly recommend.

  • Shashank has been such a vital factor of my career success and fulfillment in life. He is one of the best listeners I know, and then what I find is that he sees so many skills, qualities and opportunities in me that I did not. I have always heard the saying 'You can't read a label from inside a bottle.' Shashank is my label reader. He explains in the most effective and actionable manner how I can use my inner strengths to conquer things I didn't believe were possible. And of course, Shashank is in your corner like nobody else. He picks you up when you are down and he directly calls you out if you are doing something to self sabotage yourself or under value yourself. I know Shashank will continue to be a valuable member of my 'Life Board of Directors.' I am so grateful that I found Shashank all those years ago, and I continue to benefit from his sage wisdom, guidance and direction.

    —Will

  • Shashank is an incredibly helpful coach. He doesn't tell you what to do, he leads you to the right answer. He's incredibly knowledgeable and has had a successful career himself that he pulls insight from.

    —Cam G

  • You did an incredible job helping me move through that dark place where fear was standing in front of action. But even more remarkably, you got me thinking about the music afterward - which opened my eyes, mind, and heart to another possibility: a more beautiful orchestration of the very same song. You're not just a gifted thinker; you bring a creativity that expands what's possible. Because of that, I'm able to see myself, my situation, and my future in a completely new light.

FAQs

What is co-active coaching?

1

Co-active coaching is based on a simple belief: you already have the answers. My job isn't to tell you what to do, it's to help you hear yourself clearly and then actually move. It's one of the most widely recognized coaching methodologies in the world, and it's built around you.

How is coaching different from therapy?

2

Therapy tends to look backward to understand where you've been. Coaching looks forward. We start from where you are right now and figure out where you want to go. I'm not a therapist and this isn't therapy. If you're dealing with something that needs clinical support I'll tell you honestly.

How do I know if I'm ready for coaching?

3

We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.

Do I need to be in crisis to work with
a coach?

4

No. Some of the most valuable coaching happens when things are fine on the outside but something still feels misaligned. You don't need to be falling apart to deserve support.

What if I've never worked with
a coach before?

5

Most of my clients haven't. The first session is just a conversation. No homework, no jargon, no pressure to perform. You'll know pretty quickly whether this is for you.

Do you only work with people in Ann Arbor?

6

No. Sessions are over video so we can work together wherever you are. I have clients across time zones. Ann Arbor is just where I'm based.

How long does coaching take?

7

It depends on what you're working on. Some things shift in a few sessions. Most people find the real work happens over several months. We figure out the right pace together.

Is everything we discuss
confidential?

8

Yes. What happens in our sessions stays there. Full stop.Yes. What happens in our sessions stays there. Full stop.
